Quick Note....
I will be back with a full race report from IMAZ. I am currectly struggling with a case of Girardia. So my thoughts are kinda scrambled right now. Started the medication yesterday so I should be back soon.

You are one interesting dude.
Symptoms of giardiasis begin 1 to 2weeks (average 7 days) after becoming infected.
Is this what your attributing the sub par performance in Arizona too. I suppose going 10:15 isn't bad, but after spending 10 grand on Epic Camp!
I suppose you have to find an excuse for everything.
You should write about how you went 13:30+ at Ironman Wisconsin 05, then 6 months later dropped a 10:15 in Arizona. Not to mentioned you weighed 50 lbs less. All diet right.
Your a cute little athlete Ron.
Thanks for your comment. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am just sorry you couldn't even leave your name.
Just to clear up some things. I have never made an excuse for anything and that is what I take most exception to in your comments.
You are right about giardiasis. I guess I should have clarified and when I said that. The doc thought it was that, gave me the meds, and I am starting to feel better. The tests still haven't come in yet
I also really don't think my performance was sub par. I went as hard as could for as long as I could. I am proud of that.
I really don't feel the need to justify myself or play the defense. Honestly, I don't see what I ever did to deserve the attack.
Ron-
you rock. Al and I followed you at IM Az. you gave it your all. We decided at the last minute to do ST. Croix. See you there, Hugs and love, Tricia
I'd love to know who "anonymous" is! Not because I'd like to know the person, but rather who I need to get together with and educate.
As for the worthless comments, "anonymous" is a joke. Sounds more like a case of your own insecurities so you have to lash out at someone else who is succeeding when you can't. A classic case of "I'll take shots at others rather than put the hard work in myself." It is a joke to go after his race, saying that he should have done better because of EPIC. Dude, you don't have what it takes to even attempt EPIC, money aside. The race has little to do with what happened at EPIC. If you had any idea what you were talking about, you would know that at this level, results are dictated on a race by race level. Again, you wouldn't understand as you probably quit racing because you now lose to people you used to beat. Instead, you lash out at those who smack you down.
Again, I welcome you advising me who you are and we can discuss it over a "cup of coffee." But I'm sure you're not willing to confront the truth, just as your unwillingness to confront the fact that you don't even know the proper usage of the word "too."
Please request it and I'll give you all of my info and we will discuss more of your problems.
You're not an interesting or cute dude. I welcome your response.
Great job Ron! We are all proud of you.
Anonymous - We should be celebratory on another athlete finishing rather then being some “jackass” and speak ill of another athlete. You’re obviously not an athlete that should not be in this sport (or any other sport).
When we compete we all want to win. The true accomplishment is the ability push past the pain, negative thoughts, mechanical issues and not giving up. That is why Triathlons attract wide variety of people – it is getting past the demons we all encounter on race day. Ron's time is very respectable ~ your comments on a sub par performance being blamed on giardiasis are not warranted. Next time be a true competitor and don’t hind behind your anonymous posting.
I love people who hide under the anonymous blanket.
Anonymous, you're evidently uneducated in more than one arena; your understanding of the English language is, to use your "cute" words, sub-par, your knowledge of the individual you are bashing is sub-par, and the person you have chosen to be is much worse than sub-par.
Until you walk a mile in someone else's shoes, or in Ron's case, 140.6 miles, lurking on their blog site and posting nasty unwarranted comments is uncalled for.
Are you jealous? Are you embarrassed at your own failures? Too self-conscious to post for the WWW what your own trials and tribulations are? Maybe you should think about your sharp tongue and bite it once in a while. In the meantime, Ron's friends will continue to treat him as the awesome athlete, husband, friend, son, doctor, that he is.

Rarely am I motivated to add remarks on blogs but such an occaision requires comment.
Anonymous....being the proverbial "pot stirrer" I am sure you set out to be, I have this comment, in the words of Roscoe Snowden:
"There are at least two kinds of cowards. One kind always lives with himself, afraid to face the world. The other kind lives with the world, afraid to face himself."
I am imagine you as somewhat a blend of both types of coward.
Ron--as an outside observer, I see great things from you as an athlete but more importanly as a human being. You have an admirable desire to redefine your own limits, push your own boundries yet live your life in a way that is caring and giving to others.
Please continue to be who you are for the benefit of mankind--for men like you set a standard of goodness. People like anonymous come and go but are easily forgotten for they fail to make positive impressions on the world. On that count alone, you are on a level anyonymous will never achieve.
