End of year review

This year was a big change for me. It was my first year without an Ironman in quite some time. I have to say that it saw its ups and downs, but for the most part it was a success. I definitely grew as an athlete and coach.

I have to say that I am pretty tired this week after a long season which started last Jan., with a camp in Kona, and ended last week in Clearwater. One thing that is different is that I am having to force myself to take some down time. I am itching to get back at it. In the past I wanted the time off, and was mentally exhausted. This year that is not the case. I am almost thankful to have a nagging foot injury, because if I didn't I am sure I would be back way too soon. You need time off after a long season, it something I stress with the athletes I coach.

I accomplished two things that I was shooting for this year.

1. Win a race( I didn't how big, a win is a win)
2. Run well( to my potential) off the bike in half ironman.

One happened at the beginning of the year, and two happened last week. Of course the number one goal of getting back to Kona didn't happen, but it has made me even hungry for next season.

I don't want to bore everyone with the full details of the year. It was very positive and I had a lot of fun. I am in the process of putting together next years schedule and goals. I will be sure to share them. Nothing like putting your goals and expectations on the web to keep you motivated. There is no hiding.

Have a great Holiday Season.
