I'm Back
Well most have probably stopped checking this because it has been so long since I have last posted. I originally wanted to use this blog specifically for sharing my thoughts and ideas about training and just the lifestyle that comes with that. Basically, over the past couple months training has been pretty sparse so I really had nothing to talk about. I needed a big break after Hawaii just to get back to normal. Physically and mentally. Well enough about that.
I have changed the title of the blog. From Kona 2006 to Kona 2007. Once again getting to Kona to race is a goal of mine. The good news is that I will be getting back there no matter what. I am leaving for Kona next Fri. for a week long triathlon camp. I will hopefully be taking some pictures and posting trough out the camp. I am really excited to be going to the camp. It will be the first time since I started triathlons that I will be able to train full time, well at least for a week anyway. I should have some pretty cool break though workouts. One goal I have for the camp in to hit 40 total hours of training in a 5 day period. I have never done this before, so I am looking forward to giving it a shot. As far as the rest of 2007. I really have no idea yet. I will probably come up with something after the camp. It will give me a chance to see how fit I am, and if I really want to push for a spot in Oct. I will post my plans and goals after camp.
I have been helping Tom Ryan with his Dallas Athletes Ironman and HIM training groups. It really has been a lot of fun and has actually helped me get focused again. Just seeing how excited they are to train and race helped me pop out of my burn out. I will be doing an Ironman specific strength training lecture sometime in the future. I have prepared it, so if anyone reading this would like me to forward it to you, just send me a e mail. rtnumber24@aol.com
That's it for now. Ron
