Two days

till I get on that plane. I thought the day would never come. I saw Steveo at the bike shop yesterday. It is amazing how grown men are acting like such children. It is so much fun just getting ready for this race. The way we were talking it was like we were getting ready for a trip to Disney World. lol This may sound weird but I was more anxious last week. As I am getting closer, there seems to be a strange clam coming over me. My bike is ready to go, just have to take it apart and put it in the box. I did my bike HR test at Ahmed's yesterday. That is a pretty tough workout, but only lasts about 45 minutes. I was supposed to do my run HR test today, but it is pouring out so we just bagged it. Getting the HR correct on the bike is more important than the run anyway. Probably will go swim 3000m, and then if it clears run alittle. As far as strategy for the race. Ahmed, am I haven't really gone over this yet. But believe it or not the strategy for an Ironman isn't really that difficult. Here is what it will probably be. Swim: Get on someone's feet and swim steady. Not too fast, not too slow. Bike: Training pace the entire ride. Run: Build effort throughout the marathon. 1st 8 miles easy, and then go from there. Start to have any problems, slow down and correct them and continue. I saw that Jim put up some predictions based on time on his blog. I made a choice for this race not to even start my watch. I will start the HR function and thats it. I will have the time function on my bike, just so I know when to eat, but will take the average MPH off. I think an Ironman is so unpredictable, but Jim, I'll bite. So here are my predictions based on where I think my fitness level is at.

Perfect Day:
Swim: 1:00
T1: 5 min.
Bike: 5:15
T2: 5 min.
Run: 3:30
Total: 9:55

Great Day:
Swim: 1:05
T1: 5 min.
Bike: 5:30
T2: 5 min.
Run: 3:50
Total: 10:35

Very Good Day:
Finishing within the time cutoff.

So there it is. Again, no matter how much pain I am in out there and where I finish, I will be having the time of my life. My goal was to get to Kona. Ahmed and I busted out butts to accomplish that. Time really isn't that significant. Until next time.

Sounds like you are ready to go. I hope this quake doesn't screw the thing up. I think you are very smart not to worry about time and to follow your HR. I have not used my HR monitor since about April when the chest belt battery died on me and I have been to lazy or apathetic to get a new one.
Steve posted a nice picture of your suit on his blog.
Aloha
