The old man's time in his marathon this weekend. Incredible. A few posts back I talked about consistency. Well, I was thinking today. In the 20+ years my dad has been running, I really can't remember him taking more than three days off in a row from running. Amazing. I hope some of that longevity gets pasted down. LOL
Well I am starting to get my legs back. Last week was tough. I ended the week pretty solid. Sun. did a 40 mile bike followed by 8.5 run off the bike. Everything held together. Yesterday took off. Today I got 3000m at lunch. (Here you go Steveo.)
400s, 200k
20x100 done as
1st fast
2nd easy
3rd drill
4th kick
Repeat
100 easy
200 all out
100 easy
Getting ready to go for an easy 9-10 mile run. I think the hardest thing for me right now is that my stomach and brain want to eat like I am training 30 hours, but I'm not, so I am adjusting to being hungry all the time. Coffee is my best friend right now. Helps curb the appetite. Bikes are in the shop getting some work done. 2 hour ride tommorow probably done on the trainer. Thurs. 20 mile tempo ride on the trainer. 8.5 mile run. Fri. 3000-4000m in the water. Sat. bike HR test at Ahmed's. Sun. run HR test at Ahmed's and 3000-4000m in the water. Thats it for now. Later. RT

Ron, nice report and glad you are feeling good. I know what you mean about eating habits while training less. I don't know what to do with myself if I'm not eating or training. Keep up the positive attitude, it will serve you well. Steve
OK so how old is the "old man". Probably not old from my perspective. :)
We're nearing the finish line! It really can't get here fast enough. I'm running out of places to hide junk food in the house, your massage therapist knows you better than I do, and this morning you chastised me for washing your race socks with the rest of the laundry. Is there a blog for Ironman wives? ;)Love ya!
Amy,
There is a blog for IM spouses, but no one reads it. It seems to be the same topics over and over:)
Put some bubblewrap around Ron for the next week.
3 more days, and you will be in paradise. Have a great time!
I am glad my wife isn't hiding the junk food. Half a loaf of pumpkin bread after dinner last night was really good. The halloween candy bucket in our breakroom has accounted for at least an extra pound on my chunky little body over the last week.
As far as triathlete wives go just be patient and after a few years of doing this we become easier to live with. That is a trust me so you may not believe it.
You will have a lot of fun in Kona! See you there.
